Me and my partner met each other during our study in South Korea. On a whim, we got on the ferry to Japan for　Chuseok. This is where our story started, with me asking her out in Fukuoka. In a way, choosing Mokumeganeya is　fitting as this was where everything started. The design is also ideal in that I was able to modify the base model to fit in symbolism.

First　in having a plum as it is an important motif for winter as it blooms during winter, just as she was born in December. Second of all, the design lends itself to many other small but meaningful symbolism. The 5 petals, which together with the diamond carat and the circular shape of a ring, combined together would be the　amount of days since I was born until that fateful event when I asked her out in Japan.

For both of us, the outdoors have always been something that we cherish. This is another reason why I chose Mokumeganeya, as they are one of the few that incorporate nature in a very delicate way into the ring. Starting　from blending two metals (white gold and yellow gold), to organic branches that twirl into a plum.

To share a little bit about us, T and I met many, many years ago during schooling and we began dating many years after knowing each other and becoming very good friends. We've since been dating for almost nine years and our relationship has been marked with a deep sense of belonging, support, and joy that has only　strengthened throughout the various transitions in life we navigated together: graduating high school, transitioning from teens to young adults in college and then subsequently graduating from college, starting the next chapter of adult life, and establishing our identities through work and other exploration.

Now, this next stage　we're entering is around prioritizing ourselves and making the decision to take our relationship to the next level,　to adopt a stronger identity around our commitment to one another, first as fiancé and fiancée and then as　husband and wife.　It is on this latest stage of life that brought us to Mokumeganeya.

Throughout her life, T has always been　incredibly selfless and has given herself completely to uplift her family and friends. Two years ago, for the first　time in her life, T was able to do something that she had always dreamed of - to travel abroad and live independently in a foreign country. Throughout this time, her love and deep respect for Japanese culture has only　grown stronger, and I'm certain her experience here will leave a profound, indelible mark.

As her time in Japan　comes to an end, this ring will serve as a cherished memento of this period of our lives and symbolize a formal reunion between us as we build the next chapter in life together. We sincerely thank you for being a part of our story.

I met my partner, S, almost 3 years ago, just after COVID had kept me inside and away from human interaction.　She worked at a local coffee shop, and was one of the first people I connected with in a very long time. I would　come in and order the same drink every day, and everyday, she would make it for me. As time went on, we slowly　started talking more, forming an alliance based on our mutual love for a specific pastry. "Pumpkin danish gang". We would say to each other with a knowing nod.

One day, I mentioned I was going out of town, on a trip to Italy　and needed someone to watch my cats, and she said she would love to do it for me. A week before i left for my trip, she came over to meet my cats. We ended up sitting down and chatting for hours. The conversation flowed easily between us. I thought she was so beautiful, I never imagined I would ask her out.

Later that night, she sent　me a text message, and we exchanged messages back and forth for several more hours. We decided to hang out one more time, the night before i left for Italy. She mentioned a TV show that I should　watch and suggested we watch it together. She came over, brought some tea for us to share, and we stood in my　kitchen, for hours, talking, just like the first time she　came over. It wasn't until almost midnight that we noticed　the time and decided, "We better watch this show." She ended up staying until almost 3am, chatting.

While I was in Italy, we talked every day, I sent her pictures of what I was doing, and she sent me pictures of the cats. The moment I got home, we hung out at her place, and decided that there was a very real connection between us.

We met 6 years ago at University when the ginkgo leaves were turning golden yellow.

On our dates we would　take long walks through the University arboretum, admiring the ducks, flowers, and the stray cat that lives on campus. Two years ago, we visited Japan for the very first time mid-April. We didn't expect to see the cherry blossoms, but that year the cold weather happened to delay the blooming season and when we got to Japan we were greeted with the beautiful pink trees near our hotel in Asakusa. From then on, the cherry blossoms were special to us.

When we discovered the design and meaning of Mokumeganeya rings on Instagram, we fell in love with the symbolism and craftsmanship. We are planning to get married after 8 years together and we are looking forward to using these rings as our wedding sets to represent the rest of our lives together.

We met on August 15th, 2021 for the first time and during the time we dated and got to know eash other during that time frame, one of the first things he found out about me was that I loved Sakura and cherry blossom rings that I really loved and wore every day and I saw it as a promise ring.

In 2023, he stumbled upon Mokumeganeya on an Instagram reel and we saw the beautiful and intricate 87 facet Sakura cut on the diamond and I knew that this was he ring I wasted when the time came for engagement. Now, here we are 3 years later finally finalized customizing my dream cut ring and I can’t wait for it to come.

Here's the story about us.

J　is from Argentina, and M is from Japan. We both moved to New Zealand about 8-10 years ago.

We met each other online in 2024, and soon we realised that we were looking in the same direction in the future.

J works at a bank, and he's into health and fitness. M is a personal trainer. He had a cat, I had a dog.

The last book we had read before meeting each other was the same one. So, we share similar interests.

We were both born in April, and have a spiritual connection with Sakura.

It is an important flower for both of us, which is probably why we were drawn into the Mokumeganeya concept when we saw it for the first time.

We bothliked how the pattern reminds us of the Sakura tree, and how unique it was.

The reason we chose sapphire for the engagement ring is because we both like blue, and  M feels it matches her personality more than a diamond.

We are K and C. Two peas in a unique pod that came together later in life and share a common goal to enjoy our lives to the fullest.

Sometimes, this means we are off on road trips through new countries or hiking mountains together, but other times that means eating pizza at home (home cooked in our pizza oven!), watching movies and playing games together.

No matter whether we are at home or on travels around the world, nothing delights us more than hunting down a patisserie and sampling both tried and true and local and unique sweets.

These rings are something unique and not commonplace at your everyday jeweler. We really feel that this sums us up in a nutshell - doing things for our enjoyment, together, that may not be what everyone else is doing! It's important to us that　these rings are built from the same Mokumegane plate, representing our own special unique connection that no one else will　ever have.

These rings will be proudly worn every day, physically representing our love and commitment to each other, and symbolically signifying the journey of where we have come from and a path forward to a long and happy life together.

We were both 34 years old.

I live in the capital city, she lives in a different state.

We met when our mutual friend decided to introduce both of us to each other.

She was dressed up and proper. I was nervous and unprepared.

After the first date, she did not have interest in me.

I asked for a second chance, and we went out for a second date.

I dressed up better and was successful in asking her out.

Life changed after I met her. I traveled to her hometown often.

I dressed differently. We went on holidays together.

We argued, we laughed. I was happier.

We will be 35 in 2026. We want to start a family.

So I would like to ask for her hand in marriage in the country that means  the most to me, with a ring that I cannot get in my country.
