From A:

L and I (A) first met in 2016 while we were still at school. We shared our first moments in class, on lunch breaks and hanging out after school and have been inseparable ever since. We have grown together side-by-side all the way from teenagers finding our way in the world to adults navigating life’s milestones: graduating, starting our careers, and moving in together.

Although we met in the same school, we come from very different backgrounds. I was raised in England by my English father and Japanese mother, while L moved here from Nepal, where his family originates. As such, it has been a beautiful blend of cultures, learning to understand, adapt to, and embrace each other’s traditions.

The art of Mokumegane feels like the perfect symbol for the union; a technique were different metals are fused into a single form to create something brand-new and unique!

It also has a special significance given it is a Japanese technique and as a way to incorporate and connect to my Japanese heritage. It means so much that my family, especially my grandmother, can be part of the ceremony and the creation of these rings, despite her health.

Time is precious and people will sadly not be here forever, but through this ring, we hope to keep our stories and history alive through generations. Thank you so much for creating something so beautiful and for helping us bring our families together in an heirloom. These rings are far more than jewelry to us—they hold our history, our cultures, and most of all our future.
