Here's the story about us.
J is from Argentina, and M is from Japan. We both moved to New Zealand about 8-10 years ago.
We met each other online in 2024, and soon we realised that we were looking in the same direction in the future.
J works at a bank, and he's into health and fitness. M is a personal trainer. He had a cat, I had a dog.
The last book we had read before meeting each other was the same one. So, we share similar interests.
We were both born in April, and have a spiritual connection with Sakura.
It is an important flower for both of us, which is probably why we were drawn into the Mokumeganeya concept when we saw it for the first time.
We bothliked how the pattern reminds us of the Sakura tree, and how unique it was.
The reason we chose sapphire for the engagement ring is because we both like blue, and M feels it matches her personality more than a diamond.

We are K and C. Two peas in a unique pod that came together later in life and share a common goal to enjoy our lives to the fullest.
Sometimes, this means we are off on road trips through new countries or hiking mountains together, but other times that means eating pizza at home (home cooked in our pizza oven!), watching movies and playing games together.
No matter whether we are at home or on travels around the world, nothing delights us more than hunting down a patisserie and sampling both tried and true and local and unique sweets.
These rings are something unique and not commonplace at your everyday jeweler. We really feel that this sums us up in a nutshell - doing things for our enjoyment, together, that may not be what everyone else is doing! It's important to us that these rings are built from the same Mokumegane plate, representing our own special unique connection that no one else will ever have.
These rings will be proudly worn every day, physically representing our love and commitment to each other, and symbolically signifying the journey of where we have come from and a path forward to a long and happy life together.

We were both 34 years old.
I live in the capital city, she lives in a different state.
We met when our mutual friend decided to introduce both of us to each other.
She was dressed up and proper. I was nervous and unprepared.
After the first date, she did not have interest in me.
I asked for a second chance, and we went out for a second date.
I dressed up better and was successful in asking her out.
Life changed after I met her. I traveled to her hometown often.
I dressed differently. We went on holidays together.
We argued, we laughed. I was happier.
We will be 35 in 2026. We want to start a family.
So I would like to ask for her hand in marriage in the country that means the most to me, with a ring that I cannot get in my country.

Our story began fifteen years ago on university volleyball court where we quietly wove our first connection.
Back then, volleyball was simply a shared passion,
a place where our two paths briefly crossed before life carried us in different directions.
Years passed, seasons changed, and yet the echo of that court never truly faded.
When fate brought us back together—once again through volleyball—it felt less like coincidence and more like destiny remembering its own plan.
The same game that first introduced us now revealed how time had deepened us,
shaping who we had become and what we are now ready for.
Reconnected by the sport that started it all, what began as a schoolyard spark has grown into something steadier and more meaningful,
proving that love, like a perfectly played rally,
can endure, return, and land exactly where it’s meant to.

One of our most special memories is our first trip overseas and it was to Japan no less!
We went to DisneySea and I remember she wore a pair of golden Minnie mouse ears which were adorable.
She helped me choose a pig headband which I wore throughout the day which I still cherish now.
I was very self conscious and insecure then but she helped me realise that none of that mattered because she still chose me.
To us Japan always holds a special place in our hearts so I'm truly excited to have the opportunity to propose there.
