Ms.M and I met in August of 2018 in Melbourne Australia,
where I have grown up, and Ms.M was visiting from her home country of Colombia.
We immediately bonded over many shared interests,
one of those being Japanese culture and delicious food, and we also discovered we both watched Japanese cartoons when we were young.
As such, from very early in our relationship, we intended to come and visit Japan together. We had planned to be there in 2020,
however due to the pandemic ,we visited in 2022,
and having myself been to Japan before, I showed Ms.M many beautiful regions and temples and cities.
My family is from Greece, and hers is from Colombia, and we have visited these countries and many others around the world,
but Japan holds a special place in our hearts, and we return here annually.
By pure chance, during our 2022 trip, we happened upon the Mokumeganeya store in Shinjuku,
and were stunned by the beauty and workmanship of the rings.
I had actually met a jeweler in 2016 whilst in Japan before I met Ms.M, and she had told me about Mokumeganeya and their beautiful unique rings,
and I have had the company website saved on my computer since then!
When I saw the rings in person, I knew that one day I had to visit and organize our wedding rings.
As Ms.M loves surprises, I travelled to Japan this month, alone, to organize this as a surprise. The team in Ginza was incredible;
special thank you to Ken-san for his detailed explanations and care.
